Chrissie Parsons
Secretary
Chrissie Parsons, “I have been a Labour Party member since September 2015. My hope that the Labour Party might follow a revived Socialist direction was inspired by the Election the first time around of our Leader Jeremy Corbyn. I believe he is the right person to lead our party because of his track record of honestly and consistently remaining loyal to his beliefs and principles that a fairer and more equal society where care and respect for all citizens including the provision of efficient and well funded public services is the purpose of parliamentary and local government.
I now see hope and love right there at the heart of what our party stands for. The young and old, all genders and races in Eastbourne Labour Party and our voters will grow and build a strong local party with a determination to make a difference on Local and National issues. I am a mother of two grown up children and grandmother of 4. I want to see a better world for my grandchildren to grow up in and this is what drives me into action. We need more national and international policies that reverse the environmental destruction and internationally destructive war games that continue to play out in the current Tory government’s policies. I believe that Labour is growing in it’s strength and ability to deliver those much needed changes here in the UK.
I want to see our natural Labour voters in Eastbourne grow in confidence that Eastbourne Labour Party have a dedicated and committed team determined to do what is best for ALL people in our town and to ensure that Esatbourne Borough Council’s policies are aimed to meet the needs of everyone in the town including the workers on low pay, those that cannot find work and those who are unable to work and those that are without permanent housing. We need a pro-active voice on this council, in he form of Labour Councillor Seats that will hold the current decision makers to account if the needs of the local people are not being served. Labour has the Largest Political Party membership in Eastbourne with over 750 members and even more registered supporters. We are a genuine option for your vote if you believe in Labour Policies set out in the 2017 manifesto.
As well as being the current Eastbourne Labour Party Secretary, I am also Communications Officer and Labour Link Officer for the East Sussex Area Branch of Unison and I am a committed activist in this Union.”
