The first ever Worker-Climate Conference was held on 22nd and 23rd October when Trade Union organisers working on climate justice gathered in Sheffield.
Around 30 trade unionists, climate activists and LGND campaigners came together to evaluate labour movement climate organising in the UK, build a shared conception of a just transition, and share knowledge and skills for climate organising within trade union structures on both a local and national level.
In the next few weeks they’ll be producing a full report of the conference and the ongoing work to map worker-climate organising the the UK.
They are working on details for plans on how Labour for a Green New Deal can support the growing worker-climate movement, a vital part of our fight for a just, green future. So watch this space for more info if you’d like to find out more!
