Eastbourne Labour is supporting the East Sussex Save the NHS Campaign in their efforts to prevent the closure of our GP walk-in centre at Eastbourne Station.   We would therefore urge our members and supporters to both sign their petition and complete their survey of public opinion.

Lucette Davies from the Campaign says:-

“The Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is trying to justify the closure by making claims about how the public are thinking.  The Campaign believes these claims are not a true reflection of public opinion.  And, certainly from surveys already completed the CCG’s view of public opinion is completely wrong.  The Campaign will be able to have a stronger argument against the CCGs position if more people can complete this survey.

So please do all you can to help save this vital service.  It makes absolute sense to have a walk-in centre in a central location particularly for our town which relies heavily on visitors.  But as Primary Care Networks become established we will all find it harder to get to see a doctor and the walk-in centre will be a valuable resource.  Find out more about changes to our NHS from the Campaign’s website”.
