Eastbourne Labour Party Eastbourne Labour Party
Devonshire – ESCC Election 2021
Jill Shacklock

I am lucky enough to have lived in Eastbourne since 1997. Devonshire is a vibrant part of this wonderful town with much to offer business, visitors and residents. Post-pandemic, as your councillor, I will challenge the cuts imposed by government and East Sussex County Council and ensure that Devonshire residents are not left to pay more than their fair share of the cost of Covid. I am ready for the challenge and will fight to maintain and restore vital public services which have been subject to major cuts.
I also want to see town and county councils working better together on climate issues which will have an impact on all of our lives. A coordinated transport system connecting Eastbourne and linking to neighbouring towns and cities would make Devonshire a cleaner, safer and more prosperous place to live in.
Jill was out and about on Sunday (18th April). A Labour street stall in town followed by some time on the seafront

The Sun was out and so were we. A welcome opportunity to chat to residents and hear what matters most to you and we agree. My priorities will be to make Devonshire a safer, cleaner, greener place to work, visit and, most importantly, live in.
We need properly funded services for families, vulnerable young people and older people. We need more police on the streets and clean, green efficient public transport. Let’s replace those dirty diesel buses and fix those pavements.
